VERSE 1
Just look me in the eye and tell me baby where are you going, where you going
You tell me in a way without me ever really knowin, really knowin
And though I try, though I try, though I try to relax it’s getting hard to hold back
You got a talent girl you know just how to get what you’re wanting, what you’re wanting
PRE CHORUS
I’ve come across your kind before
But you’re not gonna fool me rich girl
No more than…
CHORUS
ONE TIME
Shame of you
TWO TIMES
Shame on myself
THREE TIMES
Shame on your daddy
For sharing just a little bit too much of his wealth
Give it to me now
Shame!
Shame!
Shame!
Shame!
VERSE 2
I should have known from the moment when you walked in the door still wearing your shades
That you were gonna have some trouble knowing how to behave child, behave child
Ooo you got money, got style, got a body, but I can’t locate a soul
Come on honey don’t fool me like you did before
PRE CHORUS
I’ve come across your kind before
And you’re not gonna fool me rich girl
No more than..
CHORUS
ONE TIME
Shame on you
TWO TIMES
Shame on myself
THREE TIMES
Shame on your daddy
For sharing just a little bit too much of his wealth
Give it to me now
Shame!
Shame!
Shame!
For sharing just a little bit, oh just a little bit…
BRIDGE
More than he should have when you cried to him “please” and the tears they ran down your face
And he caved and he gave you all that money could buy and now I’m standing right here trying to take his place
CHORUS
You can fool me baby..
ONE TIME
Shame of you
TWO TIMES
Shame on myself
THREE TIMES
Shame on your daddy
For sharing just a little bit, just a little bit
CHORUS
ONE TIME
Shame of you
TWO TIMES
Shame on myself
THREE TIMES
Shame on your daddy
For sharing just a little bit too much of his wealth
Give it to me now
Shame!

I’d been slaving away on a work project and slowly became really fascinated by twitch.tv. I don’t know why or how people decide to stream or how and why people start watching streams but it’s a really interesting community. I broke down and decided for various reasons to start one up of my own located here: http://www.twitch.tv/avarimkc. Mostly I play WoW but I break things up with League of Legends and other things (lately Borderlands 2). I don’t expect the stream to take off but hopefully if you watch, it is at least entertaining.

TellMeWhen | Tutorial 1 | Tutorial 2
So for a long while PowerAuras was broken for me. What was interesting about PA was that I used it only to track somewhat minor things, various buffs and debuffs on me or my target. Fed up with PA not being updated, I started seeking out alternatives and stumbled on TellMeWhen. Read the rest of this entry

Here are the 3 I tried based on recommendation: Feedly | TheOldReader.com | Tiny Tiny RSS
When I tried Feedly here’s what I liked/hated
Liked
Hated (please note, things changed I hear since I last used this so some of these complaints may or may not be valid)
So the hated list is super short and in fact a non-issue and you would think I would have migrated to Feedly but I perhaps jumped on that ship too early and now it’s too late to win me back.

And finally Tiny Tiny RSS

I installed it on this webserver and my regret is that I’m running off mysql instead of postgresql which I hear is much faster. I’m toying around with the idea of running a VM at home and trying out how much better it would be like that however the overhead of ensuring the security seems like a pain. Really though, what I love about TTRSS is that it has all the features I use plus more. I really didn’t have to sacrifice as much (no starred/keyboard shortcuts/marking as read) as other services plus I don’t live in fear that someone will sink and I have to migrate yet again.
I do understand that not many people have the luxury of installing and running TTRSS. Sounds like at work, the coworkers are using Feedly. I think if theoldreader let me import starred items things would be pretty different. AOL, Digg, and even Facebook are rumored to get in on the RSS bandwagon so while this is the close of the silver age of RSS, the future seems pretty good actually.

Well it’s not perfect but I’ve added a sidebar widget for my shared feed links, which can also be viewed/subscribed to here: https://www.timothyhanson.com/tt-rss/public.php?op=rss&id=-2&view-mode=all_articles&key=552b6e562929f3b0ced7ed3f60ed6fbe15e56888
In the war to win over hearts as the new Google Reader replacement, I’ve tried Feedly, theoldreader, and Tiny Tiny RSS and the winner is TTRSS. Although admittedly I still use Flipboard and Feedly on the iPad. I’ll go into more depth on those later but for now I finally have RSS articles again! I may work on getting them to be posted articles though as opposed to widget feed. Can’t decide.

Had to do some mandatory site upgrades. Seeing if this still works. Admittedly last year started out poorly and with the continued decline and destruction of my beloved Google Reader I’ve been a bit down and out on the site. However lately I’ve been thinking about random content I could add, although still inconsistently, which might be useful.

My sister called and let me know she took my cat to the vet because he had been sick since Saturday. It turns out his kidneys had failed and he had to be put down. Out of the history of all my cats he’s the first one who didn’t mysteriously run away or get run over by a car.
He was so hilarious, he pretty much acted like a dog, always so curious and never afraid to go up and investigate things for you. He was my anti-alarm clock. Before the alarm would go off, he’d hop up on my chest and sleep so I would feel guilty about getting up. He had so much personality and he would always talk back to you if you spoke to him. I carried on outrageously long conversations with him as silly as it was. He loved watching me play Rock Band and would always encourage me to keep practicing. He loved cotton candy and cheese. He would watch me play on the computer and always had advice for me. He was the most unique cat I have ever met and more than that he was truly my cat.
The main things I’ll remember of him are asking him to take care of Mattie while I’m away

Always being at my side even if it’s inconvenient

Doing dumb cute things
http://www.flickr.com/photos/28934183@N02/4161225660/in/photostream
And just generally always being around for me

He never realized he grew up, he acted like he was the world’s most curious kitten even though he was way too big to do the things he would do. I regret not going to visit over the holidays now but there’s nothing that can be done about that. I’m worried about how Mattie will get along without her life-long buddy. Goodbye Rex, you were my best non-human friend I ever had.

With the update to Google Reader I can’t easily do the link spam share posts anymore unfortunately. This sort of takes a huge chunk out of the post count since that’s mostly what I used my page for (archival awesome links). Maybe I’ll figure out a new thing but for now Google Reader feels like a really private web browsing experience, also slower than it used to be. I suppose I could try using the +1 or whatever but I tend to share a lot of content over the course of the day and it feels nicer to just have it all consolidated into one bulk entry. I don’t want to be that guy who junks up your feed.
I will say though that Aridin doesn’t seem to have a problem getting his site populated still. I wonder how he does it…. I should ask.
