I think the RSS feed cheats and gives the full story anyway.  Spoilers below though and if you’re reading on a feed just skip past.

I didn’t hate it or love it.  Transformers is tough I think.  All the complaints about the first movie still hold true. Not a lot of Transformers but a whole lot of Shia and Megan. The story is weak, which incidentally you could probably match up with the first movie.  The climax is this race event very similar to the first movie where he’s running up a building. Both sides are after something. Your brainpower is wasted if you try to break down the story, so I wouldn’t bother. This is a turn your brain off movie.

Michael Bay throws older Transformers fans a bone here and there then you realize “Oh it’s Michael Bay so he’s going to give the bone a name and then morph it into something you may or may not like.”  My list of cool things were the constructicons, Jetfire, the Matrix of Leadership, and Soundwave. Then you realize that for people just now watching for the first time, they may not even know about the constructicons except for being called Devestator when they merge, which was actually so fast you didn’t get any time to appreciate the coolness of all of them doing it. There’s a large new cast of robots from both sides and you get all of 45 seconds to digest them. It’s kind of a shame.

Why did Jetfire have a cane?  I mean, when robots get old it seems like they can scavenge for new spare parts to fortify themselves (which was clearly shown in the movie twice) so that makes no sense. I guess there’s just too many ludicrous things like that to point out such as the twin Autobots being so horrifically stereotyped.

Dwayne from The Office is in it, which was funny.  I’d say if you liked the first movie, you shouldn’t have anything to complain about since it’s basically the same movie but they reversed the desert scene and the city scene chronologically. But there’s nothing new or exciting. Optimus kicks serious ass in all his scenes, but they’re so few and far between. His lines are so heavily weighted you almost feel bad for him. Anyway, not bad but not great.
