I’m totally dissapointed with the Google Chrome announcements. No local apps? No hard drive access? Stupid. Even the Browser can access the hard drive. Such a let down.
I was hoping this would kill windows. There is no way that is going to happen any time soon with what they just announced. All it becomes is a terminal portal to the internet and everything google offers and nothing more. Some of the ideas are pretty solid, but it could have been so much more. So much for hoping for a free, robust, open source operating system.

Yeah no hard drive is crazy, very crazy. Even if I had a netbook I’m not sure I’d use it unless it was in fact crazy fast boot time.

I am going to start calling it an Apperation System because. No client support is just pointless, even on a netbook. I will gladly pay 100 extra dollars for my notebook to do everything chrome does (albeit slower) and have client side. Hopefully someone takes the source and makes a better operating system.

Well it’s based on Linux so the variants of it are practically already done and available.
